Universal leak detection
The WALECK leak test system makes it very easy to check the tightness of fuel cells, storage tanks, valves and hollow bodies of all kinds.
WALECK can be used directly as a “stand-alone” table unit, or in the Plus version as an active unit integrated into higher-level control systems – for example, for production processes with predefined test cycles.
Relative pressure method
The volume of the test specimen is pressurized (against atmosphere).
Next, it is observed whether the relative pressure drops.
Differential pressure method
The test specimen is compared to a dense reference volume.
The pressure difference between the two is measured.

Testing procedure
We offer two proven testing methods for different requirements: from relative pressure measurement to high-precision differential pressure measurement.
How it works
The automatic, rapid filling of the test specimen is achieved via pressure regulators and precisely calibrated mass flow meters. Intelligent cascade switching to the ideal measuring range of the integrated mass flow meters is implemented by an embedded PC (PLC).
Intuitive evaluation and operation are performed via a touchscreen control panel. Leakage is displayed in mln/min or mbar·l/sec.
Testing is usually carried out with nitrogen or compressed air. Testing directly with hydrogen or helium is possible in specially constructed systems.

The WALECK leak testing system is used in the manufacturing and testing of a wide variety of components. These include fuel cells and stacks, electrolysis cells, tank and storage systems, as well as drive units and engine components. Furthermore, WALECK is suitable for leak testing of all types of vehicle components, hose connections, valves, and general machine components – both as a stand-alone solution and integrated into automated production processes.
